On October 14th, H.E. Ambassador of Italy to Vietnam Marco della Seta inaugurated the fair STUDY IN ITALY and ignited the SLIM 2023 – XXIII Week of the Italian Language in the World. The event was held at Casa Italia, and it was a momentous occasion that brought the best of Italian higher education to Vietnamese students. Notably, there was also the award ceremony for the winners of CIAO Ý contest in the North.
The following day, October 15th, Consul General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City Enrico Padula continued the activities at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – HCMC National University, with the opening speech and gave prizes to CIAO Ý contest winners in the South.
STUDY IN ITALY fair turned out to be a remarkable success, with a total of 850 attendees. While the physical fair provided valuable insights into educational opportunities in Italy, CIAO Ý online course, coupled with a challenging final test before the event, attracted the participation of more than 1,000 eager learners and 1,000 enthusiastic contestants. Among these “lovers of Italy”, 10 contestants emerged as winners and 230 obtained e-Certificate, a testament to the interest and dedication of Vietnamese learners to Italian culture and language. This activity also contributed a meaningful part to the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Vietnam.
Uni-Italia’s Secretary General Alberto Ortolani added an important dimension to the event, affirming the commitment of Italian institutions to fostering international educational exchanges and promoting Italian culture abroad. This initiative not only offers the possibility of academic enrichment but also serves as a bridge between cultures, strengthening the ties between Italy and Vietnam.
The highlight of the event was the participation of representatives from 11 esteemed Italian universities. Each of these universities – UNITN, UNIBS, UNIMIB, POLIMI, UNICATT, UNIGE, UNIFI, UNIROMA1, LUMSA, UNIMC, and NABA – offered a wealth of information and guidance to the Vietnamese students aspiring to pursue higher education in Italy. These universities are renowned for their academic excellence and diverse range of courses, making them attractive options for international students.
STUDY IN ITALY was an ideal platform for Vietnamese students to explore the opportunities, from undergraduate and postgraduate programs to specialized courses in various fields of study, including science, engineering, business, marketing and communication, architecture, design, arts… The presence of representatives from these institutions allowed prospective students to gain invaluable insights into their academic and cultural exploration.
Studying in Italy isn’t merely about obtaining a degree; it’s an immersive experience in a rich patrimony of history, art and culture. From the historic streets of Rome to the artistic hubs of Milan and Florence, Italy’s cities provide an extraordinary backdrop for intellectual growth and personal development.
STUDY IN ITALY (or IDOHE – Italian Days on Higher Education), organized annually by Uni-Italia, bridges the gap between Vietnamese students’ dreams and the educational opportunities that Italy offers. The event not only provided invaluable information but also fostered cultural exchange and mutual understanding. It was a reminder that education transcends boundaries and that Italy’s doors are wide open to eager learners from all corners of the world.
